Biblical Time Line Ascension Rapture Return Eternal Church Age Trib. Kingdom State OT NT 7 years 1,000 years

Aspects of the New Jerusalem. Special thanks to "The Ten Most Misunderstood Words in the Bible" Bob Wilkin Pp. 77-81

It will be a literal place Rev. 21:1

Similar to the Garden of Eden Ezek. 36:35

The topography, the landscape, will be similar to the Millennial earth. Lower mountains (Isa. 40:4; Rev. 16;20) New Jerusalem = highest city (Isa. 2:2)

God will live with us. Rev. 21:3

No one will ever be sad or cry again. Rev. 21:4

No one will ever hurt or die again. Rev. 21:4

Everything will be new. What used to be, in particular that which was bad, is forever gone. Rev. 21:4-5

Even though it is future, the reality of it is as good as done! Rev. 21:6

Living there is free to anyone who wants it. Rev. 21:6

Those who are faithful to death, will reign as co-heirs with Jesus! Rev. 21:7: 2:25-27

The New Jerusalem is full of the glory of God and is very bright and beautiful. Rev. 21:10-11

The New Jerusalem is massive 1,500 X 1,500 X 1,500 miles. Rev. 21:15-17

The walls of the NJ are jasper and the city is of pure gold. Rev. 21:18

The foundations of the wall is many precious stones with various shades of green, blue, red, purple, orange, amber, as well as black. Rev. 21:19-20

There are 12 gates and each gate is on massive pearl. Rev. 21:21

The streets of the city are gold so pure, it is clear. Rev. 21:21 It would appear that there is transportation there.

There is no night in the New Jerusalem. It is illuminated by the glory of the Father and the Son. Rev. 21:23

There are nations in the eternal kingdom. Rev. 21:26 The co-heirs probably help rule them. 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 2:25-27

The gates of the city are never closed. It is always "open for business" Rev. 21:25

The nations bring their tribute to worship the King. Rev. 21:26

Faithful believers will wear white garments Rev. 19:8; 3:4-5

Faithful believers have special names, like pet names or nicknames, engraved on white stones which Wilkin calls "prized pieces of jewelry" Rev. 2:17

Overcomers also eat of the tree of life and of the hidden manna, which seems to enhance our experience of life Rev. 2:7, 17

Jesus' throne will be in the New Jerusalem (Rev. 22:1) and from His throne flows the river of living water. On both sides of the river is the tree of life (22:2)

The tree of life produces a different fruit every month (Rev. 22:2). The fruit will be for overcomers (22:14) and the leaves of the tree will be for the healing of the nations (22:2).

We will serve Christ on the new earth (Rev. 22:3), probably with a wide range of occupations, like now.

It may be that we will serve the Lord and travel the universe.

It seems we will have banquets, probably to celebrate accomplishments of our new lives together, as Jesus promised Matt. 26:29

One thing seems clear, we will be a unique race of glorified servant-kings. Christians, like us, will become rare.

We will never be bored. We will experience life as God intended from the beginning.

But this world, this universe as we know it, is destined for destruction. The material things we now treasure, the empty lives we now cling to will be burned up forever. So...

Why are we living for them?

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Jesus Christ
