4 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference The University of Scranton Located in the city of Scranton – NEPA –Northeast PA Private Nonprofit Jesuit Catholic University Employees – –Approx. 1180 (940 FT with about 290 Faculty) –HR consists of 7 individuals –Payroll is separate from HR; 2 clerks (and Supervisor)

7 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Specific Groups are listed here. This started as a way to build Org Charts – Now management uses to review Leave balances and Position Desc

8 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference We also have an in-house web app for each supervisor to see their own direct reports, leave time. This leave balance listing only shows the primary time off codes. Supervisors have been asking to see FMLA leave as well as a few other types, bereavement; short-term; mission leave.

9 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference November 26, 2014 – snow day; also, day before thanksgiving…. we needed to review how many people had scheduled time off before the school closed. reg-rate was added for future use.

10 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference The Vacation Overage report is only available to the HR Developer logon. This identifies the cost of vacation payout upon retirement or death.

11 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Other reports developed in this Datablock Employees that did not report time taken – Vacation; Sick; Personal; Banked Holiday – It would be useful, until it was realized that some individuals are not working all day/night but aren’t inputting time taken… 100% are Exempts List of Part-Time employees, to help with the leave rollover. This shows hours worked for prior year, which allows us to determine how much leave they will earn for the new year. – It is also being used to prepare for PTO as we make our decision to have this policy for select groups. List of employees that had taken time during a specific payroll period. We use this to help with our three pay- period leave rollover process.

15 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Our school had been selected to provide monthly reports to the DOL – these reports require population totals of all paid, all female, all faculty among other demographics.

17 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Helping Banner with the missing piece for POP-SEL The issue with Population Selection had been not being able to use another creator’s population. This was an issue for Student Activities and their lists of Volunteer Students It was an issue for Bursar office when they needed to submit a job to reprint specific student invoices.

18 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Prior to moving from Programmer to HR – this was an issue that was brought to my attention several times It is built in steps, with direction at the bottom of each step/stage.

19 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference As each field is selected – instructions change and action links are added – the links allow the user to go back to change selections.

20 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference Only the creator of the Pop Sel will see the Authorizations button. This is where we will assign other Banner users privileges to use this program to add or remove IDs and to send email if required.

21 2015 16th Annual PABUG Conference As creator of the POP SEL you will have the ability to add any Banner User you want to grant editing privileges to for that specific Pop Sel Enter the Banner User ID and [ADD] / When you need to remove a user it’s even easier. [REMOVE]
