3. What Does This Mean?
We cannot rely on simply teaching students a formula to answer math problems anymore.
Students will often need to learn these concepts at varying paces, as not all students will master a deep understanding at the same time.

4. Math Workshop Allows for small group instruction
Students have independent practice and group work
Allows for specific needed skill building

5. What would a math workshop look like?
Students receive whole-group instruction (10-15 minute mini-lesson)
Students engage in math stations
(40-60 minutes)
Teacher provides whole-class review, closing, and possible preview of next lesson
(10-15 minutes)

HOW TO GROUP STUDENTS:
Put students in groups of no more than 6 students.
Students move up or down by unit-of-study based on their need. Groups are fluid.
