5. Mentor  Attend required mentor training  Contact with new IDS library  Travel to the IDS library for one to two days of intensive on-site mentoring  Offer support to new library via phone, email, etc.  Share experiences, tips and tricks

6. SUNY Geneseo  Recruit and select mentors  Assist in the creation of mentor training materials  Training mentors and support of mentors  Provide feedback about the mentoring process  Data collection

7. Nylink  Conduct Needs Assessment of new IDS library  Create a webpage about the mentoring program  Assist in the creation of training materials, tool kits, etc.  Provide training

8. Needs Assessment  Evaluation of where the new library is at –Conducted at the beginning of the process –Assist in the matching of mentors and libraries  Phone conversation –Which OCLC ILL features do you currently use? –How much experience do you and your staff have with ILL?  Results are shared with mentors –Guide the mentor on areas to focus on

13. Timeline: How does it work?  Order is submitted for Illiad  Needs assessment conducted by Nylink  Mentors matched with library  Mentors contact library  Visit to IDS mentor library: lending  Mentor offers support

14. Timeline Cont.  Mentor visits new library 1-2 weeks after borrowing is activated –Cover modules 1-4 or as needed  Mentor advises coaches as necessary  Mentor visits library second time  Stats Webinar

15. Future  What worked and what didn’t?  Is this worth pursuing?  Sustainability?  Apply to other needs?  Utilize to offer continued support to veteran libraries?
