3. Experts You and your group members will become experts on the Civil Rights Group you selected. Your presentation should cover the main points of your Civil Rights Group: What were some motives for their fight for Civil Rights? Who were key figures/leaders within the your group’s movement? Where did the movement for your group take place? (General Area) What challenges does your group encounter as they continue fight for their Civil Rights?(Also list some of those experienced in the past) How has your group achieved success in obtaining their Civil Rights? What were some key events/situations/decisions made that put your group’s movement onto the public scene? What are some current issues pertaining to your group? You will have one class day to complete this assignment

5. Final Product You are Juniors You need to be able to determine what the product should look like, sound like, and feel like. In addition, you should be able to determine what expectations are set for a successful presentation.

6. Your Grade will be based on: Style of presentation (Creative, engaging, use of technology, etc) Covering main points of your Civil Rights Group IN YOUR OWN WORDS Graphics/Visual representations Transitions Spelling, grammar, and punctuation Content and accuracy of information MLA Citation Contents of a good presentation (Smart Start, handout, video clips, ENGAGEMENT etc. ) Presentation itself (Speaking clearly, eye contact, knowledge of topic, etc.)

7. NOTE: If a member(s) of your group is gone, the presentation will still go on. Being ill or absent does not excuse your group from presenting. Therefore, each member, though responsible for a particular section of the presentation, should still know how the pieces fit together and should be able to present ALL information!
