5 5 Programmes in Library Science Certificate for Library Assistants (with HKLA since 1964) Entry requirement 5 passes, including English, at grade E or above in HKCEE, or equivalent Duration - 9 months Joint programme with Hong Kong Library Association (HKLA) Para-professional course for library assistants Conducted in English & Chinese Part-time evening classes Course fee: $7,500 Commencement date – September 2011

7 7 Diploma in Teacher Librarianship (Primary or Secondary) Entry requirement A teacher certificate or equivalent and a minimum of two years teaching experience (If you want to be sponsored by Education Bureau, you need to meet EDB’s requirements) Duration 2 years (12 modules) Provide school librarians with professional knowledge and skills on: teacher librarianship analyzing information needs and retrieval skills for teachers and learners use of information and learning resources according to curriculum objectives Course fee: $38,500 Commencement date – October 2011 (commissioned by the EDB, HKSAR Govt)

9 9 Higher Diploma in Library and Information Management (full-time programme) Entry requirement 5 passes in HKCEE (including English and Chinese); and a pass in 1 AL subject or 2 AS subjects in HKALE; a recognized Pre-Associate Degree / Foundation Programme or equivalent; A recognized post-secondary certificate or diploma Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination * Level 2 or above in five subjects including English Language and Chinese Language, or equivalent; Duration 2 years
