3. ADOT’s Response  Seek stable resources and take advantage of tools such as P3s  Understand Mexico’s economy, supply chain, and infrastructure priorities  Work on improving the entire corridor from Mexico City to the northern border of Arizona, and beyond

The Border by the Numbers  $15.9 billion = 2014 Arizona’s bilateral trade with Mexico (up $1.8 billion)  6.4 million = 2014 pedestrians that crossed the border into Arizona from Mexico (down about 12%)  8.5 million = 2014 northbound vehicles (up 4.5%)  380,751 = 2014number of northbound trucks (even)  795 = 2014 number of trains (down slightly)  $450+ million = Investment in border infrastructure in the past 7+ years

10.  ADOT recently completed work in downtown San Luis to improve traffic flow near the Port.  ADOT also widened Avenue E near San Luis II, making autos more viable.

11. Douglas  Existing Port of Entry in Douglas is outdated and overburdened.  Strategy to relocate commercial operations to a new port of entry west of existing port.  No funding is currently available.  Douglas was turned down for the Section 559 Donation Acceptance Program.

12.  Arizona is pursuing an aggressive agenda with Mexico  Great success with bringing dollars for ports of entry and related projects back to Arizona.  We need more to meet growing needs.
