1 Immigration & Border Security
“Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt

2 Immigration & Border Security
For the past 20 years in the United States, a country with a strong tradition of limited government. Recently the United States government power and secure the nation's borders against illegal immigration. Both republicans and democrats have increased the size of border patrol from fewer than 3,000 agents to more than 21,000 and has built nearly 700 miles of fencing along the southern border with Mexico and deployed pilotless drones, sensor cameras and other expensive technologic aims at preventing illegal crossings at the land borders. The government has overhauled the visa system to require interviews for all new visa applicants and started extensive background checks for those who are allowed to come to the United States to study, travel or do business. Now it requires documents such as a passport or equivalent for all travelers that are United States citizens and noncitizens. Also, border officers take fingerprints and run other screening measures for all travelers coming to this country to identify criminals, terrorists or others who pose a threat to the country.

3 Donald Trump Donald Trump is against immigration and thinks we need extreme border security, he believes that immigrants are the reason behind all the problems in the United States. He blames people such as Mexicans, who he claims are the reasons for drugs in America and Syrians, who are terrorists. He thinks that if we remove the problem, we go back to order.

4 Donald Trump’s Plan 1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border. 2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced. 3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans.

5 Donald’s Syrian Issue Donald thinks that we need to no longer accept syrian refugees because they pose a threat to the United States. He says that if he becomes president then he will make sure that all Syrians will be kicked out. Basically, he’s saying that all syrians are terrorists.

6 Ben Carson

7 Carson’s Plans If an immigrant has a pristine record, they can register as guest workers so they're not living subterranean. They have to pay a back tax penalty and they have to pay their taxes going forward. However, they don't get to vote and they aren't a citizen. the long-term plan is to allow American businesses to go over to Central America and South America, develop an area of land, create jobs and teach those people agricultural business, while also making profit. This will help them to be able to improve their own standard of living there so they won't need to come here. He also want to place more security on the southern border.

8 Marco Rubio

9 Rubio’s Plan Illegal immigrants must come forward and be registered. If they have committed serious crimes or have not been here long enough, they will have to leave. Those who qualify for E-Verify would be allowed to apply for a temporary nonimmigrant visa. To obtain it they will have to pay an application fee and a fine, undergo a background check and learn English. Once they receive the work permit, they would be allowed to work legally and travel. To keep it, they will have to pay taxes. However, they would not qualify for government programs like Obamacare, welfare or food stamps. If they commit a crime while in this status, they would lose their permit. Those who qualify for a nonimmigrant visa will have to remain in this status for at least a decade. After that, they would be allowed to apply for permanent residency. He also want more security on the southern border.

10 Views of Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton is for immigration and border security. Hillary is fighting for an America where every family feels like they belong here. Instead of breaking up hard working, law-abiding immigrant families who have enriched America for years, she will work to keep families together and ensure a more humane immigration enforcement system.

11 Plans on Immigration & Border Security
Fight for comprehensive immigration reform legislation with a path to full and equal citizenship and Promote naturalization. Doing this, she wants to provide a full and equal path to citizenship, treats every person with dignity and will work to expand fee waivers so more people can get a break on costs; increase access to robust language programs to help people boost their English vocabulary; and enhance outreach and education so more people are informed about their options and engaged in the process. Defend President Obama’s DACA and DAPA executive actions and do everything possible under the law to go further to protect families. Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and the Deferred Actions for Adult Arrivals (DAPA) may be known as the DREAM ACT. Hillary will defend DACA and DAPA against lawsuits that would put DREAMers and others at risk of deportation. She will try to get parents case for deportation easier to fight.

12 Plans on Immigration & Border Security
End family detention. She believes that those who are caught crossing over the border, especially with children, should not be held in a detention center for days. she actually wants to close the detention centers. Expand access to affordable health care to all families. She believes that everyone deserves health care even though of immigration status.

13 BERNIE SANDERS

14 SANDERS VIEW ON IMMIGRATION
“We are a nation of immigrants. I am proud to be the son of an immigrant. My father came to this country from Poland without a nickel in his pocket. Their story, my story, our story is a story of America: hard-working families coming to the United States to create a brighter future for their children. But even as this tradition is carried on proudly by so many families all across the United States, we have eleven million people in this country who are undocumented – who came here to improve their lives, to escape oppression, to flee desperate poverty and violence – and are systematically shut out from that same opportunity.” `

15 BERNIE PLAN · Dismantle inhumane deportation programs, detention centers and family detention. · Ensure our border remains secure while respecting local communities; · Regulate the future flow of immigrants by modernizing the visa system and rewriting bad trade agreements;

16 PLAN Border Security: We can and must secure borders without building a fence. We ought to provide a path to citizenship for people from many different countries. DREAM Act: Supports the path toward permanent residency for young, undocumented immigrants. Visa Reform: Reject the exploitation of workers and the use of visas for cheap, foreign labor. Increase opportunities for qualified individuals to take steps towards permanent residency

17 VIEWS ON BORDER SECURITY
Bernie believes that border security is an important aspect of immigration law and reform, but does not support stronger measures to increase it and does not think border security should be connected to a border fence.
