1 Five principles of readability (OWL Purdue material)
Readability refers to the general ease with which readers can understand and remember sentences. Factors that affect readability: Diction (our terms) syntax (the order in which we place the words)

2 Principle One Sentences that have a subject-verb-object order are more readable than those that don’t. The technique was recommended by the American Concrete Institute. The American Concrete Institute recommends the technique. Object Verb Subject
