Some things may have minor changes due to schedule and logistics of the site, example would be lay-out of Tactical Room or candidate timeframe for scenario schedule. Goal To provide a consistent scenario and setting that allows the Candidate to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities in the role of the 1 st in Company Officer.

6 You as the Candidate Portray as if this is an actual incident. Time is compressed, units are invisible, interaction is real. Verbalize as if real, even if a body is not there for “Face- to-Face”. If you ask for a status of something, you will get an answer back. Use the tools you have available to manage the incident. There will be no time-outs, unless called by the proctor.

7 Prior to the Tactical You will be led to an area for preparation of the incident with written instructions. The Proctor will answer any questions they can. You will have 3-5-minutes to review, prepare and take notes. These can be used during the tactical presentation if you choose. At 3-5-minutes, units will be dispatched over the radio. Respond and monitor radio traffic until you are directed to arrive at approximately the 5 minute mark. When you enter the Tactical Room, announce your arrival at scene. Proceed to the “CP” You are now live with the incident.

8 Tactical problem The incident will have key issues to solve, but there may also be minor problems to address. The incident will be jurisdiction specific. You are not required to use the radio inside the tactical room. You may be interrupted by the Proctor at any point with additional information. There may be clarification questions, from the Assessors at the end of your exercise. Exercise approximately 40 minutes in length, 25 minutes for candidate and 15 minutes for Assessor scoring.

10 When Done Introduce yourself to the Assessors. The Proctor will retain the following testing materials: Your instruction sheet and all personal notes A picture of your accountability board You will then be directed back to the Candidate waiting area to pick up any personal items and then are excused.
