Nehemiah 3

Nice passage! Nehemiah was leading a rebuilding of 4.8km of wall. Jerusalem, once a great city, lies in ruins. Nehemiah is given permission that the king to rebuild it. This chapter is a list of the 38 names that rebuilt the wall.

1.Honour the workers Nehemiah gave mention to those who did the work. A good leader honours their team and in turn receive honour. We must encourage an atmosphere of honour at G2. How can we better encourage and honour those who do the work at G2?

2. Every on has a job. The building work was taken on by the community. Nehemiah held the vision; the people backed his vision by doing the work. The steering team at G2 hold the vision, it is our responsibility to get behind them and do the work? Do you know the vision? How can you serve it?

3. Geographical Responsibility. Some people take responsibility based upon where they live. They take responsibility to build the wall in their community. Some of us will do ministry in our streets. We should take responsibility for our communities. What are the problems of your community that you can help to solve?

4. Professional Responsibility Some are professional builders. They use their skills to rebuild the city. They dedicate their professions for the benefit of the wider community. Do we work to earn money for ourselves, or do we seek to invest in the city by what we do? How can your training/job aid the building of the Kingdom?

Reflections Building for the Kingdom invests in the future. We must build as a community in order to be successful. We must have shared goals and visions. We must honour our leaders. We will have varying levels of work but each is equally necessary.

Reflections How can we better encourage and honour those who do the work at G2? Do you know the vision? How can you serve it? What are the problems of your community that you can help to solve? How can your training/job aid the building of the Kingdom?
