New Testament Authority in the Present Age 1
2
2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (What about the Genesis Account? Does it really matter?) 2
3
Galatians 1:11-12 “But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught [it], but [it came] through the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 3
4
2 Peter 1:16, 19-21 “For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” “knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke [as they were] moved by the Holy Spirit.” 4
5
1 Corinthians 4:6 “that ye might learn in us not to think [of men] above that which is written,” Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” (Genesis Account?) 5
6
The Apostles of Christ Preached the Gospel Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus Commanded His Apostles to preach to all Nations 6
7
John 16:13 Jesus told His apostles that they would be guided into ALL truth. Jesus told His apostles, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;” Matthew 28:20 7
8
John 17:17-21 Jesus prayed in John 17:17- 21, “but also for those who will believe on Me through their word,” 8
9
WHAT HAS THE DEVIL DONE? The evil one works to confuse and deceive those that seek the truth of the Gospel of Christ. 1 Cor. 2:1-5 Romans 10:17, “So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” 9
10
2 Peter 1:2-8 “as His divine power has given to us all things that [pertain] to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” 10
11
2 Corinthians 4:4-5 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 11
12
Consider what Jesus said: Matthew 15:7-9, Does it matter if one is sincere? John 5:41-44, Does it matter what name we use? John 14:25-26, “send the Holy Spirit in My Name.” Acts 4:12; Ephesians 1:19-23, NO OTHER NAME! Romans 16:16 12
13
What shall we be called? Acts 11:26, “And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Or shall we wear the names of men? John 5:37-44 13
14
How is it you do not understand? If authority for what we do and say in our service to Christ Jesus the Lord doesn’t really matter, why did King Jesus say all these things in reference to scriptural worship? Men love the praise of men, and walk in the pathway of academic excellence versus walking in the pathway of Light, God’s Word! (What I like, what you like, what we like?) 14
