2. Condensation
When water droplets come together they form clouds. This is an example of condensation.
Condensation occurs when water vapor decreases in temperature and changes into a liquid.
The water droplets on the mirror are a form of condensation.

3. Precipitation
This is a diagram of precipitation’s role in the water cycle.
Precipitation occurs when there is so much water accumulated in the clouds that gravity pulls the water to earth.
Usually, precipitation comes down in the form of snow and rain.

4. Surface Runoff is when water flows downhill eventually returning to the ocean.
This is a picture of overflowing water running through a field. This is an example of surface runoff.

5. Infiltration/ Percolation
Infiltration/ Percolation is where water seeps into the ground; moving through the soil removes impurities.

6. Ground Water is surface runoff water that remains underground.

7. Transpiration
This picture shows the plant “sweating” through its stomata.
Transpiration is when plants sweat and the water evaporates into the air.

8. Evaporation
This diagram shows the temperature heating up the water and making it evaporate.
Evaporation occurs when temperature rises and water turns from a liquid to a gas.
