4 The rock cycle is a model that describes how rocks slowly change from one form to another through time. The rock cycle shows the processes that form igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock. Rocks can change by more than one process.

5 Erosion is a process in which surface materials are worn away and transported from one place to another by agents suck as gravity, wind, water, and glaciers. What do you think happens to the rocks when erosion occurs?

6 The (principle) Law of conservation of matter of matter states that matter can neither be created or destroyed. It is only transferred. Review: What is matter? **The changes that take place in the rock cycle never destroy or create matter.** Matter is redistributed.
