4 What Went Wrong? So why do so many look for, but fail to find happiness? Child with a square peg… We are created by God, made in His image (Gen. 1:1,26-27) We were wired by Him

5 …in all the wrong places
Solomon searched for happiness, and recorded his findings in Ecclesiastes Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 Like many, he tried it all, and nothing worked Unlike many, he also tried God

6 Solomon Found It! Ecc. 12:13 – Fear God, keep His commandments
How many of those famous stars that died looking for happiness tried that?? God is the key to happiness Without that key, we are locked out from discovering true happiness!

7 Habakkuk’s Hymn Habakkuk realized that his nation would be destroyed for it’s wickedness How could he possibly be happy, knowing this? Habakkuk 3:17-18 Though all seems lost…

Because you have God He will never leave us, nor will He forsake us!

9 Paul’s Experience Paul, in prison, penned Philippians 4:11- 12
How was he able to be happy? Need to understand the difference in the temporary vs. the eternal Temporary things and circumstances should never drive our happiness

10 How To Be Happy Make your call and election sure
Separate your needs from wants Count your blessings, not your failures Remember it’s a choice It’s simply a matter of attitude (how we choose to view things)
