2 Monday 11/4  Vocab Unit #5: 16-20 and exercises  Go over Canto 33/34 reading quiz results  Finish film as needed/discuss and turn in film analysis sheets  Poetry pre-test  Read article in groups- complete group “Analyze This”  Intro to Poetry PPT with student notes packet as time allows….

3 Tuesday 11/5  2 nd period- Turn in “Analyze This” poetry  Vocab Unit #5 exercises (quiz Thursday!)  Go over article “What Use is Poetry?” with Analyze This  3 rd period finish film  Intro Poetry PPT (sounds, etc…with packet)  Poetry in class with read along PPT  Assign poetry projects (due THURSDAY)

4 Wednesday 11/6  Vocab Unit #5 Quiz review: Poetry fun with vocab! (see next slide….)  I am going to hand back lots of papers during this time as well!  2 nd period- finish sounds PPT  Poetry readalong PPT in class  Read selected poems with annotation guide as a class  Practice SOAPSTone analysis  Assign Poetry Projects (due date has been moved to MONDAY) H/W: Vocab Unit #5 quiz tomorrow!

5 Poetry Vocab Activity  Using at least TEN vocab words (underline please):  1-Write one sentence which includes a metaphor  2-Write one sentence which includes imagery  3-Write at least two sentences written in end rhyme  4-Write one sentence using alliteration  5-Write at least two sentences written in internal rhyme  6- Write one sentence using assonance (can write 2 if that is easier….)

6 Thursday 11/7  Unit #5 Vocab Quiz  Continue reading/annotating/analyzing poems  Go over results of poetry pre-test  Present novel PPTs and prepare for essay tomorrow!!  Work on poetry projects as time allows H/W: prepare for essay tomorrow!

7 Friday 11/8  In-class essay!!  Your book  Text book  Paper and PEN (I must be able to read your paper to grade your paper)  Staple rubric to the front and turn in when you are done!  Reminder-  Unit #6 vocab groups present next week!  Poetry post test Monday!  Poetry Projects due Monday!
