4.  We have medical points to educate you about health related issues, engage in activities that will give you knowledge about health professions, and teach you skills that can be helpful in professional schools.  We have socials so you can get to know other pre-health students, directors, and create a network of relationships for you.  We have fundraising points to help out the community, and improve Gainesville!  Good Standing is used to guide your involvement, and help you take advantage of everything we offer!  Ultimately, what you put into AMSA will be what you get out of it! ◦ The more involved, the more experiences and stories you can share with admissions committees.

7. PCC TED TALK Tuesday, November 17 th from 5-7pm HPNP G-111 Come out to watch a TED TALK by Dr. Rishi Manchanda and discuss ways of improving primary care. 1 medical point

8. RESULTS Advocacy Training Interested in getting involved with health advocacy? Want to learn important advocacy skills? (looks good on medical and other health profession school applications) Simply looking for a medical point? If you answered yes to any of these questions, join us Monday, November 16 th at 6:00pm in the Deweese Auditorium (McKnight Brain Institute) -Lisa Marchal, a representative from the national RESULTS organization, will be present to help us establish a RESULTS chapter within our very own AMSA. She will discuss the importance of advocacy and cover some basic advocacy skills, such as communicating with senators and congressmen. -Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn and represent our AMSA chapter!

9. Health Disparities in Medicine Talk Come hear from a panel of experts as they discuss important topics in health disparities. Laura Guyer, PhD, RD - Founder of the health disparities minor at UF Linda Cottler, PhD, MPH - Co-director of a health disparities research program Henry Young, II, MD - Emergency room physician at Shands When: Thursday, November 19 th starting at 6:30pm in the McKnight Brain Institute – Deweese Auditorium Refreshments will be served and counts as a medical point!

10. HOE/PCC Vital Signs Workshop Monday Nov 9th at 6:30 pm HPNP G112 Learn how to take blood pressure and blood glucose! 1 medical point!

11. $1002.33 Thank you for supporting the Equal Access Clinic Network at the Food Truck Rally! Together we raised $1002.33 and at the AMSA table alone we raised $148.89
