6 VERTICAL TEST: for R&D @ LN 2 The test station is located outside the building, near the LN 2 tank. It consist mainly of a vertical cryostat and a “mixer” allowing to cool down the magnet in the cryostat with variable temperature between 300 - 77 K. This test station is not equipped with electrical powering system and uses a cryostat previously used by the RF cavity test in SM18. R&D TQ, SMC,HQ,RMC Modelling SQXF, MQXFA, MQXFB Prototyping Q1,Q2a,Q2b,Q3 Production Q1,Q2a,Q2b,Q3 STRING Post installation 8.7 t, > 2 m D 1.03 m Designed for a max. gradient of  T= 100 K to qualify mechanics at cold 19 days total: 60 hours “actual” cooling to 77 K 5 days warming Long weekend Not 100 % automatic… Time can be reduced Available
