3  MI theory  Proposed by Howard Gardner in 1983  Purpose: 1. better describe the concept of intelligence 2. challenge traditional IQ tests

4  Seven intelligences: logical / mathematical: logic, abstract concepts, reasoning and numbers visual / spatial: mental images, sensitivity to shape, size and color body / kinesthetic: control one’s bodily motions and the capacity to handle objects skillfully

5 musical / rhythmic: sensitivity to rhythms, tones, sounds, and music interpersonal: interaction with others Intrapersonal: understand oneself and practice self-discipline verbal / linguistic: ability to use or learn language effectively and creatively naturalist (1999): knowledge about the natural world

6  logical / mathematical: puzzles and games, logical, sequential presentations, classifications and categorizations  visual / spatial: charts and grids, videos, drawing  body / kinesthetic: hands-on activities, field trips, pantomime
