NGO Global Forum Location –NASREC A multi-purpose, state of the art conference venue which integrates formal and informal public events, conferences, exhibitions and public facilities with recreational and cultural spaces, making it the most ideal venue for this event Home to the 9 Major Groups during the Summit The Host Country, South Africa is providing the venue for the NGO Global Forum to optimise the logistical integration between the UN Summit and Global Forum

5 Transport Grids Heads of State or Government This grid and its routes are classified information under the management of the VIP Protection Services Unit of the South African Police Service Arrivals and Departures This grid will offer an airport transfer service for delegates who made their bookings through the official WSSD travel and accommodation booking agent – see www.joburgsummit2002.com www.joburgsummit2002.com This schedule will offer a continuous service to cater for inter-provincial tourism opportunities pre, during and post the Summit.

Zone 1 Shuttle System This grid has been designed as a daily scheduled circular shuttle which will operate exclusively in Zone 1. Delegates residing outside of Zone 1 and who have an SA Welcome Card and UN pass will be able to access this shuttle via Ubuntu Village Inter-Zone Transport System This grid has been designed to transport delegates across Zones 2 to 10 Special Events & Initiatives This grid has been designed to move up to 50 000 delegates within two hours to special events, such as the host country’s opening ceremony

Volunteers Approx 5000 Volunteers –Over 35 Days –3 Shifts 2 Components –Youth skills development programme –Linked to tertiary institutions –Professional volunteers –Linked to corporate sector and professional individuals Across all areas of the Summit programme

Security The operation will be led by the South African Police Service Significant deployment of additional officers will be brought into Johannesburg to supplement existing law enforcement capacity
