1 Transformation Project Step 1: I will give you a small sheet of graph paper to make your original image/picture. (Just in quadrant 1). This needs to have details and have at least 10 ordered pairs( you can have more if you wish) that you can easily manipulate. This needs to be approved by me before you move onto step 2 (DUE 1/12). Step 2: Once your design has been approved, you will record the coordinates that you will be using to transform your project on the coordinate sheet provided. Step 3: On this one sheet of graph paper you are going to do three transformations. For each you need to create a column on the paper that you have your coordinates written, to write the new coordinates. 1) ROTATION of 90° Counterclockwise 2) A TRANSLATION that moves your picture completely into quadrant III. This will be unique to each of your pictures and make sure that you give me your rule on the coordinate sheet. 3) REFLECTION over the x-axis. Step 4: On another sheet of paper with only quadrant 1 on the paper, do a DILATION of your image. You can choose your own scale factor and whether your dilation is an enlargement or reduction. Make sure you write this as an algebraic rule on the coordinate sheet as well. Step 5: Assemble both pictures along with the coordinate sheet onto a poster board for presentation. Please make sure your FINAL PROJECT is colored and NEAT! Timeline: Original Image and teacher approval DUE 1/12/16 Full class day to work on the project and PARENT SIGNATURE DUE 1/13/16 FINAL PROJECT DUE 1/19/16
