4 II. Truly God, Truly Man A. Truly God = divine nature 1.matter of faith = mystery 2.“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” John 3:16

5 B. Truly man = human nature 1. all thing except sin a. sin - ignoring God and turning away for God 2.humility a total openness to the call of God that is the exact opposite of sinful self- centeredness a. St. Paul ( Philippians 2:6-8) example of Jesus taking the form of a slave

6 St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians 2:6-8 Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross
