5/28/13P. Hurh RaDIATE May 2013 Meeting 5 Other RaDIATE News? 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting

Pending discussions IMT Table: Stage 1 teams need to decide soon whether we can work with the materials we have or whether we will need new irradiations High energy protons (BLIP) Lower energy ions (facilities?) Do we need triple beam facility? 6 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting

Specimen size/technique discussion: What miniature specimen standardized tests are being used for radiation damage testing? Are these validated for graphite? Has micro-mechanics techniques been validated or empirically correlated for Be and W? Should we be engaged in validation testing of either miniature or micro-mechanics techniques for our materials in the near term? What can we exploit/leverage from past and current work (IFMIF, PNNL, etc…)? 7 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting

Action Item List from June Proceed with short-listing and interviewing candidates for Be study post- doc (Roberts, Hurh, Densham) Continue to investigate alternative, measureable effects that can be used to validate the DPA and gas production simulations (S. Brooks, et al.) Work to begin graphite/C-C composite bend testing at BLIP in late June (Ammigan, Simos, Hurh) Investigate further availability of irradiated materials for testing (esp Be at CERN and AP-0) (Hurh/Ammigan/Calviani) Marco to present information on CERN Be targets at July meeting Continue work on Be lit study, graphite lit studies and W studies (All) 8 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting

Action Item List from June (2) 9 B. Hartsell to present on incorporating radiation damage into thermo- mechanical FEA via multiple material assignment at July meeting Arrange for July meeting (Hurh/Ammigan) 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting

Next Meeting Any conflicts with end of August? 10 07/22/13P. Hurh RaDIATE July 2013 Meeting
