‘Equipping the Saints’ Vocation in the Church Bishop’s Training Day Diocese of Portsmouth Revd Catherine Williams National Adviser for Vocations Ministry Division

All Are Called The young are called; the elderly are called. There is no retirement from the Christian pilgrimage. The beautiful are called, and also the unlovely. The sick are called as well as the healthy and the energetic. Activists are called and also quiet people. Women are called, and men are called. The poor are called. God has no favourites and equally calls to discipleship the rich and the comfortable.

God’s Call Leads To Three Questions: God’s Call Who am I? What's my part in the body of Christ? How should I be a disciple of Christ in the world?

Who am I?  In God’s image  Unique  Gifted  ‘Becoming’ ‘Follow me’ into ‘life in all its fullness’

What is my part in the body of Christ?  The Church  All Member Ministry  Different Roles  Some upfront  Some hidden  All important

How should I be a disciple of Christ in the World?  Salt  Light  Alongside God  Words and actions  Witness  Ambassador

Working on all three callings: God’s Call Who am I? What's my part in the body of Christ? How should I be a disciple of Christ in the world?
