7 Scenario 1 – Not legal R. Kelly’s hit song was published in 1996. According to fair use, only 30 seconds of this song could be used.

8 Scenario 2 A student would like to add a 20 second clip of “Ice, Ice, Baby” by rapper Vanilla Ice to her multimedia poster on the stages of matter. Legal or not legal?

9 Scenario 2 - Legal The use of 20 seconds of this song is perfectly ok. In fact, she could have used 30 seconds, but she must also cite the source in her project.
