In production, when systems are restarted in specific sequences, connections may not come back to life:
- The SLD must be running when SAP NetWeaver PI is started
- ABAP SLD clients and SLD data suppliers will fail if the ABAP gateway they use is down
We start SLD first

For <=SP17 follow the guide:
Setup SLD in the scope of E2E Root
Cause Analysis Solution Manager SP17
For >= SP18, use SOLMAN_SETUP
IMPORTANT: The newly available Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 (also known as Solution Manager
7.01 SP18), has introduced a guide setup procedure (transaction solman_setup), which in particular
includes an automated setup of the Solution Manager (local) SLD. Therefore several parts of this guide
will no longer need to be performed manually in the scope of EhP1.

Don’t need SLD-SolMan configured for <= SP17 for SMD
Need SLD-SolMan configured for >= SP18 (ehp1) for SMD
Configuration assumes production SLD is in place
DO NOT use SolMan’s SLD as the production SLD
7.1 Netweaver install REQUIRES an SLD
SLD guides are in SDN
SLD-SolMan guide is in a note
Biggest challenge was the roles/auths created in the Java UME
Trouble free once it’s configured
