Welcome to St. Peter! Our hymns, prayers and Bible readings emphasize an important Christian responsibility that we have toward one another: we are to forgive one another, as God has forgiven us. As our knowledge and appreciation for God’s forgiveness to each one of us increases, may we be empowered and enabled to forgive those who sin against us!

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

Confession of Sin Pastor: God, in forgiving love, has given us his very best: his one and only Son, Jesus Christ. But we have failed to appreciate God’s goodness and we have countless times not given our best back to him. Therefore, let us acknowledge our sinfulness and ask him to forgive us.

Confession of Sin All: Holy and merciful Father, I confess that I am by nature sinful and that I have disobeyed you in my thoughts, words, and actions. I have failed to forgive others, as I have been forgiven by you.

Confession of Sin All: For this and all my wrongs, I deserve your punishment, both now and in eternity. But I am truly sorry for my sins, and trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ, I pray: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Thanks be to God!

Verse 2: Oh, the height of Jesus' love, Higher than the heav'ns above, Deeper than the depths of sea, Lasting as eternity, Love that found me—wondrous thought!— Found me when I sought him not.

Verse 5: Strengthen me, O gracious Lord, By your Spirit and your word. When my wayward heart would stray, Keep me in the narrow way; Grace in time of need supply While I live and when I die.
