Work done: Polito_DIATI FoF.NMP.2013-8-6087715 M6 meeting 15 th -16 th January 2014 T1.1: ANALYZING STONE MATERIALS IN THEIR INTERACTION WITH THE CUTTING SYSTEM AIMS: To define a class of workability for the materials typically cut by the machines To define the effect of loads and vibrations on the cutted surfaces, RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: Previous Research In Literature on workability of ornamental stones, and the ratio stone/diamond wire cutting machine; Investigation Techniques: - petrographic analysis: mineralogical composition, crystal size, structure and texture; -Image analysis of macroscopic, and point counting of microscopic and analysis of the contact between grains in according with vertical and horizontal stringing; -Microhardness; -Abrasion resistance; -flexural strenght; Analysis of test results
