3 HPLC techniques exist that do utilize affinity chromatography properties. Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography (IMAC) is useful to separate aforementioned molecules based on the relative affinity for the metal (I.e. Dionex IMAC). Often these columns can be loaded with different metals to create a column with a targeted affinity.

6 Ion Exchange Chromatography  commonly used in the purification of biological materials. 9 Pyrolysis gas chromatography - a method of chemical analysis in which the sample is heated to decomposition to produce smaller molecules that are separated by gas chromatography and detected using mass spectrometry.

11 Gravity Chromatography - Gravity chromatography is appropriate for laboratory scale and involves minimal instrumentation. It relies primarily on hand-packed columns and is particularly well suited for single-step purifications like desalting and affinity applications. Advantages of Gravity Chromatography - Simplicity — a gravity column is easy to design, set up, and operate - Minimal start up costs — costs are limited to the researchers' needs. No injectors, pumps, detectors, or fraction collectors are required - Disposable — many disposable prepack and empty polypropylene columns are available
