1 Facts About Ladybugs Written for: First Grade Readers By: Jill Nolan September 2007

2 Ladybugs are part of the beetle family. Many are red or orange with red spots. Some are black with red or yellow spots.

3 Ladybugs have four wings and six legs. They can fly.

4 Ladybugs eat small bugs called aphids and help farmers by eating harmful bugs.

5 Ladybugs hibernate, or sleep through the winter, just like many bears. Ladybugs can be found all over the world!
