10 Dissemination  All articles and reviews can be freely viewed and downloaded by anyone via CMI’s website www.managers.org.uk/toparticles  Highly rated articles will be available via: ̶ CMI’s ManagementDirect portal to CMI members and employers ̶ British Library Management & Business Studies Portal  “Brainbox” - regular column in Professional Manager (circulation 100,000+)  Researchers can join CMI’s free online community to discuss their research

12 Do’s and Don’ts  Do: ̶ Make sure you have copyright clearance ̶ Use a short title (6-8 words) ̶ Have something to say (a clear conclusion to the research question) ̶ Provide practical insights ̶ Express ideas clearly ̶ Contextualise the findings (e.g. case studies) ̶ Use ‘plain language’ whenever possible  Don’t: ̶ Raise lots of questions without providing the answers ̶ Explain how complex the issue is (practitioners know this already!) ̶ Long passages about research methodology ̶ Jargon, neologisms or excessively abstract language
