3  Most common use of IT in businesses is to monitor employees.  Major companies monitor employee email and internet use.  Companies can easily filter internet connections from distractions. 2014 salary.com data and findings

4  Many reasons why a company may consider filtering websites.  Distractions  Legal issues: malware, inappropriate or illegal material  Sexual harassment claims

5  A teleworker is an employee that works away from the office, either working from home or while traveling.  Often use collaborative software to increase productivity and maintain communication.  Collaborative software includes calendars, email list, cloud based application, chat and instant messaging, ect.

6  Used for simple calculations, budgeting, and accounting.  Relative cell referencing changes relative to the formula’s position. 11  Travel sites have hotel, train, bus and airline information online for customers.  Body scanners are used in airports to detect hidden weapons and threats. Privacy concerns go along with that.  Package tracking is useful when one orders online.

12  AKA intelligent cars, use IT to improve driver safety and comfort.  Often times, sensors are used to provide information about the environment. (back up camera, automatic stop, wheel automatic spin)  Weather conditions  Automatic emergency call  Comfort and convenience
