2 Task Try to remember as many words as you can.

3  department store a large store which sells a number of items located in various departments There are a number of department stores located in the suburbs.

4  shopping mall a large building with a lot of shops, restaurants, and sometimes a cinema

5  baker's / bakery a shop which sells bread and pastries Could you go to the baker's and get two loaves of whole-wheat bread?

6  butcher's a shop which sells various types of meat I went to the butcher's and bought a few steaks.

7  chemist’s (BrE) / drugstore, pharmacy (AmE) a shop where you can buy medicines, make-up and products used for washing yourself

8  dry cleaner's a shop which cleans clothes Can you take these trousers down to the dry cleaner's?

9  fishmonger's (BrE) / fish-shop (AmE) a shop which sells fish Why don't we go get some salmon at the fishmonger's for dinner tonight?

10  florist's a shop which sells cut flowers and plants for inside the house
