2 AUSTRALIA'S LINKS WITH THE WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL LINKS Over the past 200 years, Australia have had links all over the world with countries such as Great Britain and America. When major events happen such as the World wars, these links can be weakened as others strengthen. For example after the second world war, our link with America grew as our link with Great Britain weakened. The whole world have environmental links in common. Our water cycle and ecosystems never change. Natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis are also common however some countries are exposed to these disasters more than others. Microbes and diseases can also be common within countries and continents as they can be spread with contact.

6 AUSTRALIA’S GLOBAL LINKS Australia has global ties with other countries through import and export agreements, sporting events and foreign aid. These global ties have been strengthened by the international relationships. Due to the treaty Australia signed with the United Nations (UN), Australia maintains ties with over 100 countries. This treaty enables Australia to export and import many resources.
