2  Course – measures student learning upon completion of a particular course  Program – measures student learning upon completion of a particular degree or certificate  General Education – measures what the college expects students to know and be able to do upon completion of an A.A. or A.S. degree

3  Define student learning outcomes (already done if they are contained in the COR or PLOs – do they need editing?)  Determine whether, and to what extent, students can perform or apply these outcomes  Use the information to make improvements in instruction and learning (if improvements are deemed needed)

4 Student learning outcomes and authentic assessment are in place for courses, programs, and degrees Results of assessment are being used for improvement and further alignment of institution-wide practices There is widespread dialogue about the results Decision-making includes dialogue on the results of assessment and is purposefully directed toward improving student learning

5 Appropriate resources continue to be allocated and fine-tuned Comprehensive assessment reports exist and are completed on a regular basis Course student learning outcomes are aligned with degree student learning outcomes Students demonstrate awareness of goals and purposes of courses and programs in which they are enrolled

6  SLO assessment “ shall not be used as a criterion of evaluation ”  Attend workshop on a one-time basis ($50)  $50 for each different course level assessment report submitted within one year of attendance at the workshop; a total of two reports from two different courses may be submitted for payment for a maximum compensation of $100  Assessment Report is required for each submission
