6 Club Vision The aim of the Research Junior Football Club is to achieve the highest level of integrity, sportsmanship and competitiveness possible within the Northern Football League through the adoption of the following Club policies:- To give ALL children the opportunity to play Australian Rules Football for enjoyment, achievement and the development of team participation. To assist ALL players to achieve the highest level of skill possible. To ensure highest standard of acceptable behaviour from ALL players, officials and parents of our Club at ALL times. In the appointment of only trustworthy officials to the committee and all positions requiring the involvement and interaction with our players. To abide by ALL rules and guidelines as laid down by the Northern Football League. By adopting policies against discrimination of sex, colour, race, religion or socio-economic circumstances. By abiding by the Club rules as laid down by the Clubs constitution.

7 Club Values The Research Junior Football Club aims to provide an opportunity for the youth of our area to participate in Australian Rules Football and enhance their health and well-being through organized sport. The Club, will at all times, endeavour to provide for the health, welfare and well being of its players, supporters and spectators. This aim will be achieved by promoting and developing the following values and objectives: A sense of social and community values. An environment to nurture the physical and mental development of our youth. Respect for officials, opposition players and supporters. The virtues of fair and disciplined play. Equal opportunities for everyone. They will be realized by providing as far as reasonable: Competent coaches and assistants. Adequate facilities, amenities and equipment. Supervised social functions encouraging family participation. Regular communication and consultation with players and parents. Active leadership and management of the Club. All players, coaches, officials, parents, supporters and committee members have a responsibility at all times when representing the Research Junior Football Club to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner consistent with these values and or Codes of Conduct.

8 Player Expectations Respect your coaches, team mates, supporters and club officials Respect opposition coaches, players, supporters Respect umpires and their decisions Win, draw or lose with Dignity and Respect After each game line up behind your captain / leadership group and shake hands of the opposition players, coaches and umpires regardless of the result Club song to be sung once inside dressing room Assist with packing up footballs and equipment at the end of every training session

9 Player Expectations Attend all training sessions unless you have a valid reason and then, advise your coach if you’re unable to attend Arrive to training 10 minutes early and in appropriate training kit Correct match day uniform and safety equipment (mouthguards, etc.) must be worn and arrive to your game early in accordance with your coaches instructions Prepare for your game Good meal the night before & a good nights sleep Good breakfast Arrive to your game early and ‘switch on’ as soon as you arrive Receive any trainer assistance if required and get into your team’s match day preparation and listen to your coaches

10 Player Expectations Be prepared to play in multiple positions and roles Identifying and creating opportunities for our better players into representative football Creating pathways for our players into senior football

11 Coaches Expectations Provide a good role model for the team by being organised, punctual and respectful Abide by relevant codes of conduct Implement the RJFC coaching program and processes Provide safe, quality training sessions Will win, draw or lose with dignity and respect Respect opposition players, coaches and all game officials Coaches will always reward effort

12 Parent Expectations Please do not coach your child at training or on match day (mixed messages), instead encourage your child to learn more about themselves and to develop their game by working on their skills, strengths and weaknesses. Please support your child in getting to training and game days on time, in the appropriate uniform and with the right preparation. Please respect all decisions made by coaches and game day officials. RJFC prides itself on being a “Family Club’ which provides a safe and enjoyable environment. Abuse of players, coaches, game day officials or opposition supporters will NOT be tolerated. Any parent observed to be behaving in an abusive manner will be asked to leave the game. Repeat offenders will not be admitted to the club. If you’re unhappy about any aspect of your child’s football focus your energy on supporting your child or children on working on the development opportunities their coaches have identified – remember it is all about the kids. Respect the coaches and all other team volunteers. If your child is unhappy about any aspect of their football at RJFC, please bring their concerns to the club’s attention by following our lines of communication in a respectful manner.

13 Summary Research Junior Football Club has a great reputation within the NFL and Nillumbik community. This has not happened by accident but rather has been the result of many volunteers who have selflessly worked behind the scenes. Our culture and values are demonstrated by our players, coaches and parents on training nights and on game day It’s all about the kids. We have implemented a well structured, deeply considered and robust coaching framework across all age groups and genders that is designed to develop the children and youth who represent the Research Junior Football Club whilst providing them enjoyment within a safe and fun environment. Our focus is to develop your child from a young footballer into a respectful young adult of the broader Research community Provide to those players that want to pursue a pathway into senior football regardless of their gender Most importantly, players we want you to have fun and love the game you love to play! Parents, have fun and enjoy watching your child or children bonding with their tem mates whilst playing the game they love to play!
