1 Suprathermal Ion Measurements from WIND/STICS Susan Lepri Jacob Gruesbeck The University of Michigan

2 SupraThermal Ion Composition Spectrometer (STICS) On the WIND spacecraft, launched in 1994 – orbit that took it in and out of the magnetosphere for the first 10 years of the mission. – Since mid 2004, WIND had been in orbit about the L1 point with other upstream monitors such as SOHO and ACE. Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer conceptually similar to SWICS (minus post-acceleration). Unique energy range, ranging from ~6 keV/e (30 keV/e) up to 230 keV/e. Observes nearly 4Pi. Links measurements from ACE SWICS (on low energy end of spectrum) to those from instruments like ACE ULEIS (on high energy end of spectrum)
