1. Get your Science Notebook. Place your Safety Poster as well as any forms on the box. Fill out your Agenda.

4. Start Out Right Always get your teacher’s permission before attempting any lab. Read the procedures carefully.

5. Eye Safety Wear safety goggles when working around chemicals or any type of heating device.

6. Neatness Keep your work area free of all unnecessary books and papers.

7. Neatness Tie back long hair, and secure loose sleeves or other loose articles of clothing, such as ties and bows.

8. Electricity Be sure your hands are dry when handling electrical cords.

9. Glassware Examine all glassware before use.

10. Chemicals If chemicals/acid gets on your skin or clothes, wash at once with only water. Do not use soap.

11. Rocks and Minerals Handle all rocks and minerals with care.
