There are four blood types: A, B, AB, and O O blood type is called the “universal donor” while AB blood type is the “universal recipient” Your blood cells are marked with antigens (agglutinogens) that label what blood type they are Antibodies (agglutinins) are present in A, B, and O blood types; therefore, the antibodies will attack other blood types by clumping the blood—a reaction called agglutination
