3. Winston Smith is being watched by a group called “Big Brother”.

4. He does not like being watched.

5. Big Brother tells Winston Smith that he has to learn a new language.

6. He does not want to learn a new language. He does not like “Big Brother” controlling him.

7. Winston meets a woman named Julia. She has black hair. They work together.

8. Winston loves Julia, but he is afraid that Big Brother will not let them be together.

9. Winston and Julia start to date anyway. They both agree that they do not want to be watched, they want to make their own choices.

10. Winston and Julia live together. They get a small apartment together.

11. Winston and Julia are still being watched. They are afraid that they will be put in jail for living together.

12. Winston and Julia do not like being watched. They do not want to go to jail.

13. Big Brother finds out about Winston and Julia. They get in trouble and go to jail.

14. Winston makes a deal gets out of jail. He lives alone and obeys Big Brother.
