3 FUN FACTS  Average brain is 3 pounds  2% of body weight, yet uses 20% of oxygen supply and gets 20% blood flow.  If deprived of oxygen for 3 to 5 minutes brain cells die. After 8 minutes irreversible brain damage occurs.
