2 TYPES OF ANIMALS DOMESTIC ANIMALS PET ANIMALS WILD ANIMALS

3 DOMESTIC ANIMALS Kept at homes and on farms for domestic purposes.
They are used to do work for human beings. They also give food for us. E.g. Cow, Goat, Horse, Donkey, Sheep, Buffalo, and many others. We can see pictures of the above animals in next slide.

7 PET ANIMALS Pet animals are very friendly. They are useful too.
Dogs guard our houses, cats chase mice, Parrot repeat what we say.

8 WILD ANIMALS Live in Jungles , Zoo and Forest.
Many wild animals eat plants and some eat flesh of other animals. Wild animals that are eating flesh have sharp teeth, so that they can tear the flesh easily. E.g Lion, Cheetah, tiger, Fox, Jackal, Hyana, Elephant, Giraffe, Monkey and Zebra. Pictures of these animals are as follows.

13 FOOD HABITS OF ANIMALS Based on the type of food, animals are categorized under three major groups. HERBIVORE- Plant eating animals.E.g Deer, Rabbit, Camel, Ox, etc. CARNIVORE- Flesh eating animals. E.g. Wild Boar, Leopard, cougar, Wolf etc. OMNIVORE- Animals that eat both plants and flesh of other animals. E.g. Bear, Crow, Vulture, Dog etc.

37 BIRDS CHARACTERISTIC FEATURE OF BIRDS. HAVE FEATHERS HAVE BEAK
HAVE WINGS HAS STRONG ARM AND CHEST MUSCLES. MOST BIRDS BUILD NESTS BIRDS BODY IS LIGHT. BIRDS FLY AS THEIR BONES ARE HOLLOW. LAY EGGS.

38 PARENTAL CARE IS THERE. BIRDS MIGRATE MIGRATION ENSURES THAT ANIMALS HAVE ADEQUATE FOOD SUPPLY AND ALSO FOR REPRODUCTION. MOST BIRDS FLY WHILE SOME BIRDS CANNOT FLY. BASED ON IT THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF BIRDS. FLIGHT AND FLIGHTLESS BIRDS.

39 FLIGHT AND FLIGHTLESS BIRDS
BIRDS THAT CAN FLY ARE CALLED AS FLIGHT BIRDS. E.G CROW, PIGEON, SPARROW, PARROT.

40 FLIGHTLESS BIRDS SOME BIRDS ARE UNABLE TO FLY.
SOME FLIGHTLESS BIRDS HAVE LONG LEGS, SO THAT THEY CAN RUN VERY FAST. E.G OSTRICH, KIWI, EMU AND PENGUIN.

41 BIRDS BEAK DEPEND ON WHAT IT EATS.

44 TYPES OF FEATHERS BIRDS HAVE THREE KINDS OF FEATHERS
DOWN FEATHER- ACT AS RUDDER (HELPS BIRDS TO TURN WHILE FLYING) BODY FEATHER- KEEPS BODY WARM FLIGHT FEATHER- HELPS BIRDS TO FLY.

45 USEFUL THINGS WE GET FROM ANIMALS
BIRDS- EGGS- RICH IN PROTEIN. SKIN OF ANIMALS- BAGS, LEATHER JACKETS , BELT , ETC. MEAT- RICH IN FAT AND PROTEIN. MILK- RICH IN PROTEIN AND CALCIUM

46 SCAVENGER ANIMALS THAT EAT DEAD ANIMALS ARE CALLED SCAVENGERS.
THEY CLEANSE ENVIRONMENT. E.G CROW, DOG, VULTURE ETC.

47 PROTECT ANIMALS HUNTING/POACHING SHOULD BE BANNED.
SOME ANIMALS LIKE TIGER ,RHINO AND PANDA ARE IN GREAT DANGER OF BECOMING EXTINCT. LET ALL OF US SAVE OUR WILD ANIMALS FROM THE DANGER OF BECOMING EXTINCT.
