The Eastern Shore makes less money per county. – 2. The Eastern Shore has a higher unemployment rate. – 3. Maryland likes to stay competitive with the rest of the country in areas like education and technology. – 4. The Eastern Shore life style is different from the rest of the state (farmers in the east v. urbanization in the center of the state). This boundary is separated by the Chesapeake Bay.
