1 Conversation Barbara is inviting Daniel, her classmate, to a Halloween party on October 31. (B = Barbara, D = Daniel) B: Hi, Daniel. Would you like to come to a Halloween party at Jane’s house on October 31?

2 D: I’d love to. Thanks. Is everybody going to dress up? B: Of course, it’s Halloween! We have to wear costumes. It’s an important part of the holiday. D: Right. I think I’ll go as a vampire. What do you think?

3 B: Good idea. You will look pretty scary at the party. D: I hope so. Are you going to be a witch? That’s always a popular costume for girls. B: Actually, I want to surprise people. I’ve decided to be a skeleton this year.

4 D: Wow, you might frighten some people with that costume. How about coming over to my house tomorrow night to work on our costumes? B: Sounds good. I am really looking forward to this party. D: Me, too. 結束放映

15 8. How about coming over to my house... work on our costumes? (1) How about + N/V-ing? = What about + N/V-ing? ,意為「……如何呢?」,常 用來詢問對方的意願。例: ‧ How about a cup of iced coffee? (2) come over 表示「來訪」。例: ‧ If you want to come over, please call me in advance. (3) work on 表示「致力,從事」。例: ‧ Although Ben was tired, he continued to work on his homework.

16 9. Sounds good. 意為「聽起來不錯」,常用 來回應對方說的話,也可以寫成 sounds great/terrific/wonderful 。例: ‧ A: How about going out for dinner tonight? B: Sounds great.

17 10. look forward to + N/V-ing 表示「期 待……」。例: ‧ Philip is looking forward to seeing Ivy tomorrow.
