1 This Past Week

2 Friday……. John 1:1-4 Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. 3 Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4 Sunday… Mark 11:1-11 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

5 Monday… Mark 11:12-19 12 On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

Remain here and watch.” 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. … 41 And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”

12 about 6 am… Mark 15:15-20 16 And the soldiers led him away … and they called together the whole battalion. 17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18 And they began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him and kneeling down in homage to him. … And they led him out to crucify him.

13 after 6 am… John 19:17 and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. Luke 22:26 And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.

14 about 9 am… Mark 15:25 They crucified Him “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34 “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” v. 43 “Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” John 19:26-27

15 about noon… Matthew 27:45-46 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

16 Between noon and three… After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” John 19:28 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” John 19:30 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. Luke 23:46

18 …This Past Week Friday… Jesus arrives at Bethany Saturday… Word got out, crowd arrived Sunday… Jesus entered Jerusalem as a king Monday… cursed the fig tree, cleansed temple Tuesday/Wednesday… questions & parables Thursday… ate the Last Supper Friday… arrested, tried, crucified Saturday… all rested

19 On Sunday … Women started to the tomb before dawn Found an angel w/the rock rolled back Jesus appeared –To Mary, to apostle, 2 brethren, and to 500 at one time

20 Romans 6:4 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
