2 Objective: SWBAT solve problems such as projectile motion (free fall) problems using quadratic functions and apply the properties of exponents by translating expressions with fractional exponents into expressions with radicals. Bell Ringer: a.Find the axis of symmetry & the vertex for the function b.Write an equation for the quadratic function whose graph contains the given vertex and point. vertex (-1, 6), point (3, 4) HW Requests: p. 176 #34, 36, 38, 61-64 Exit Ticket:Homework: Continue pg 176 #61-64 Announcements : 6 th Per. 3 Objective: SWBAT solve problems such as projectile motion (free fall) problems using quadratic functions and apply the properties of exponents by translating expressions with fractional exponents into expressions with radicals. Bell Ringer: Quiz 2.1 HW Requests: Exit Ticket: Homework: Quick Review 2.2 pg 189 #1-10 Announcements : 6 th Per. D. Lee, D. 4 Slide 2- 4 Power Function Any function that can be written in the form f(x) = k·x a, where k and a are nonzero constants, is a power function. The constant a is the power, and the k is the constant of variation, or constant of proportion. We say f(x) varies as the a th power of x, or f(x) is proportional to the a th power of x.

5 Objective: SWBAT apply the properties of exponents by translating expressions with fractional exponents into expressions with radicals and solve more projectile motion problems. CRS: Functions 24-27 -Evaluate polynomial functions expressed in function values. Bell Ringer: Problem 1 on Projectile motion handout HW Requests: Quick Review 2.2 pg 189 #1-10 Exit Ticket: Homework : Complete 4 problems from Projectile motion handout AND take the data from the experiment and perform quadratic regression on the collected data. Announcements : 6 th Per. D. Lee, D. Weathersby Sect. 1.4-1.5 Quiz Quiz Tomorrow Tuesday 2.1 Binders due 12/2 15 th Week Assessment 11/30 Date: 11/23/11
