Two Parts to God’s Love God Loves Us We Love God 1 John 4:9 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” 1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

5. Who Does God Love ? His Son - “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matt.3:17 All Mankind - John 3:16  World - Matt. 5:45  Israel - Deut. 7:7-8 - Deut. 23:5  Church - Eph.1:3-6 “all spiritual blessings” 1 Pet. 2:9 “chosen generation” 2 Thes.2:13 “beloved of the Lord”

6. How Does God Love ? Tenderly & Constantly - as a Mother Isa. 49:15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,…? Isa. 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; ” Compassion - as a Father Hosea 11:1“…Israel was a child, I loved him” Ps. 103:13 “As a father shows compassion” 2 Sam. 18:33 “O my son Absalom”

7. How Does God Love ? Husband / Wife Eph. 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives,…” 2 Cor.11:2 “I have espoused you to…” “I promised you in marriage” Isa. 62:5 “rejoices over the bride” Courageously - as a Lion Isa.34:4 “as a lion roars” Ps. 23:4,5 “I will fear no evil” Indestructible - like Hosea

8. How Has God Shown His Love To Us ? World Ps. 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows….” Mt.5:45 “sun” and “rain” Spiritual Rom.5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

9. What Does God’s Love Offer Us ? Freedom from the Love of Sin 1 Jn. 4:4 “You are of God, little children,…” Freedom from the Practice of Sin Rom. 6:6-7 “he that is dead is freed from Sin.” Freedom from the Guilt of Sin Heb. 8:12 “will I remember no more.” Freedom from the Consequences of sin Rom. 6:23 “gift of God is eternal life”

10. Demands of the Love of God Love in return I Corinthians 16:22 “If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!” John 14:15 - “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Obey the Gospel BELIEVE REPENT CONFESS BAPTIZED John 8:24 Luke 13:3 Matt 10:32 Mark 16:16

11. Demands of the Love of God Live As a Christian  Worship - Heb. 10:25  Study - 2 Tim. 2:15  Teach - Mk. 16:15  Keep unspotted from World - Jas. 1:27  Walk in the Light - 1 Jn. 1:6-7  Avoid Lying  No filthy Language  Avoid Strong Drink  Flee Fornication

12. Sent His Son “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” I John 5:3
