2.  Two kings led as military commanders and some power fell onto council leaders= Oligarchy (group of people led)  Future governments used group of people to lead so power could be equally distributed.  Sparta was one of the mightiest city-states.  City-states: state that has its own government and consists of a city and the area around it.  Way to keep order in society was training for war.

3.  Strength and toughness demanded from citizens.  If a child was unhealthy, it was left in the wild to die.  Schools trained young boys for physical combat and sent them into the wilderness without food or tools and expected to survive.  Woman’s role was higher because they also had to be tough, as they trained in gymnastics and had to bare strong children.

4.  Spartans believed in several gods, opening the road to polytheism in other civilizations.  The use of weapons such as shields, spears were used in other civilizations during battles, to enhance their fighting strategy.  The power that relied on the people showed other civilizations that the heart of the city’s strength was the strength that the people had (citizens trained, practiced, and fought for battles and wars, which helped them win a lot).
