2 Commotion (n.)- noisy activity Synonym: Celebration Antonym: Peace
There was a large commotion at the Cowboys and Redskins game on Sunday night.

3 Concoction (n.)- a mixture of ingredient; putting several things together Synonym: Mixture Antonym: Ingredient The potions master created a great concoction of seaweed, salt, mushrooms, shredded paper, and clay chunks.

4 Conspicuous (adj.)- easily seen; something obvious; attract attention
Synonym: Obvious Antonym: Mysterious The hiding spot the toddler had chosen was a rather conspicuous choice.

5 Contortion (n.)- a sharp twist or bend in, or of, something or someone
Synonym: Twist Antonym: Straight After the blacksmith nearly melted the metal it spun around in a spinning tube to create a contortion of metal.

6 Imperious (adj.)- arrogant; thinking you are above it all.
Synonym: Arrogant Antonym: Humble The imperious knight was boasting highly of how skillful of a warrior he was.

Synonym: Chatter Antonym: Be Silent The two women in the corner were constantly jabbering to each other during the conference.

Antonym: Tap When Timmy passed the jug he accidentally jostled it and it fell to the floor and smashed into a trillion pieces.

Antonym: Crawl The mouse scurried across the room with the piece of bread that he had just snatched out of the human’s hand.

Synonym: Peaceful Antonym: Rambunctious The serenity of the waves were so calm, that it didn’t disturb my fishing line whatsoever.

12 Sociable (adj.)- enjoying the company of others Synonym: Interactive
Antonym: Reclusive It is very helpful in a business committee to be a sociable person that converses with his fellow employees.

13 Somber (adj.)- very serious or sad Synonym: Sad Antonym: Cheerful
The football team was very somber when they went 0-16 that season.

14 Mnemonic (adj.)- memory assistance Synonym: Memory Clue Antonym: none
A mnemonic reminder is “Anger is one letter short of Danger.”

15 Narcissism (n.)- egoism, egocentrism Synonym: Egoism Antonym: Selfless
The gentleman walked around town with an aura of narcissism for he had defeated the opposing king.

16 Amethyst (n.)- a clear purple or bluish violet variety of crystallized quartz Synonym: Purple Antonym: none The amethyst colored diamond looked beautiful on the woman’s hand.

17 Somnambulate (v.)- to walk while sleeping Synonym: Sleepwalk
Antonym: Walk At a slumber party one of my friends started to somnambulate and made such a ruckus that he woke up the whole house.

18 Venerate (v.)- to honor with a ritual act of devotion Synonym: Worship
Antonym: Dishonor In his religion they must venerate their gods by providing them with great gifts of grapes and money.
