6 SSA Commission Roles: Recommend tax cap (one time) Recommend tax rate, budget, services and service provider (annual) Approve SSA work plans, budgets and amendments as needed

7 SSA Commissioners –must comply with Ethics Ordinances –Subject to Debt and Child Support Checks –Applications Reviewed by Mayor’s Office and City Council –Proposed budgets cannot exceed tax rate cap and are reviewed by City Departments and must be approved by City Council Service Provider –Subject to Debt and Child Support Checks –Economic Disclosure Statements required for Agency Organization and must list all SSA subcontractors –Required to have annual audits of SSA financial activity –Spending cannot exceed budget –Submit reports to DPD on a regular basis –Must be in Good Standing with State of Illinois City of Chicago Oversight
